SEZARC Updates

ISWE Conference 2019

SEZARC staff recently traveled to the Kruger National Park in South Africa for the 7th Annual International Society of Wildlife Endocrinology Conference!

The International Society of Wildlife Endocrinology is a non-profit organization that provides a forum for collaboration and information exchange to advance the science of wildlife endocrinology with innovative approaches to study wildlife health, reproduction, welfare, and conservation.

We are proud to inform you that the conference was a huge success! SEZARC’s Dr. Lara Metrione presented on the relationship between nutrition and fecal glucocorticoid metabolites in bison, while SEZARC’s Cayman Adams presented her data on the relationship between thyroid and testosterone hormones in aquarium and wild sand tiger sharks. SEZARC staff also got a chance to visit the poster presentations featuring our work with some of our awesome collaborators.  We are so proud of our team, as well as our collaborators!

As an extra bonus, SEZARC staff got the opportunity to go on several safari trips and see the wildlife they work so hard to conserve in their natural habitats. It was truly a once in a lifetime experience for everyone!
